QUICK NEWS AND NOTES:
Now with NBA over and MLB in the playoffs I’m diving back into some PGA. Someone in the group mentioned they missed my PGA article so I wanted to get back on the horse and get one up for the CJ Cup!
COURSE:
The CJ Cup is normally played at Nine Bridges Golf Club in South Korea but has been moved to Shadow Creek due to the COVID-19 pandemic. There is a mandatory 14 day quarantine for anyone traveling from the United States and this just became to much of a hassle. The course is going to play around 7,560 yards with limited prior rounds to look at.

SPECIAL NOTES:
Dustin Johnson has the course record at Shadow Creek’s 7,560 yard layout (par 72) with a score of 66.
COURSE STATS:
Please are going to be all over the place with their “predictions” but I’m going to keep it simple. I’m targeting golfers who are in good recent form and rank high in driving distance and par 5 scoring. Every course the highest birdie holes are always the Par 5s and this one is no exception. My ranks for this week are all going to be over the last 36 rounds played.
GOLFERS TO CONSIDER FOR THIS WEEK:
MATTHEW WOLFF (10,000 DK / 11,200 FD)
Driving Distance RANK: 2nd
Par 5 RANK: 8th
Recent DK points: 142 last week at the Shriners and then 86, 54, 77, 96.5. Running 142 and 86 over the last two events is putting him in good form!
TONY FINAU (9,400 DK / 10,600 FD)
Driving Distance RANK: 3rd
Par 5 RANK: 2nd
Recent DK points: Has not played the last 3 events but had 57 at the US Open and a couple low 70’s numbers. Not great form but it doesn’t take much for Finau to get hot.
SERGIO GARCIA (8,400 DK / 9,500 FD)
Driving Distance RANK: 6th
Par 5 RANK: 13th
Recent DK points: He has played each of the last two events and has put up 89.5 DK points last week and 134.5 in the prior event. Solid form and ranks well for the course.
SI-WOO KIM (7,100 DK / 8,300 FD) <-VALUE GOLFER OF THE WEEK!->
Driving Distance RANK: 18th
Par 5 RANK: 28th
Recent DK points: 108.5 DK points last week and 73 the week prior. The 73 DK points the week prior is already over 10x his low 7100 salary giving you a good floor.
TOM HOGE (6,100 DK / 7,100 FD) <-PUNT PLAY OF THE WEEK!->
Driving Distance RANK: 58th
Par 5 RANK: 56th
Recent DK points: If you are looking for a punt play to stack some studs then Hoge might be your guy! He is coming off 92 DK points last week, 76.5 the week prior and then his other prior event on 9/1/20 he dropped 82 DK points putting him in solid form. His stat rank isn’t great for driving distance and P5 scoring but he is 5th in proximity across the board and even 22nd in 200+ proximity. His price tag of 6100 on DK is bottom barrel.
