MLB DFS Slate Breakdown for Monday from CheatSheetPros.com!

MLB Sports Betting Picks & DFS Stacks from CheatSheetPros!

QUICK NEWS AND NOTES: (DFS Stacks)

STACKING is a must in DFS. I prefer to stack 4-5 hitters from one team and then 2-3 from another team for a “mini stack”. You can do 4/4 or 5/3, etc. The idea of stacking is when one hitter is on base and the guy behind him hits him in then you get points for the run scored and also the RBI from the other hitter. I base my stacks on cost per player and how chalky it may or may not be. Here is what I’m looking at today.

PITCHING OPTIONS:

DANNY DUFFY

I am going to attack this slate with a Danny Duffy as the 5th cheapest pitcher on the slate and a stud. Duffster has put up 22.1 and 24.5 DKP in his last two stats and combined those for 12.0 innings, only allowing 1 ER and 11 Ks. Duffy throws a 93.8 mph fastball and Tampa ranks 20th vs. the fastball. TB ranks 15th and 16th against his secondary pitches. He is cheap and a good shot are 3x+ return playing at home tonight.

PICK YOUR STUD

I don’t mind any of the big names tonight. Brandon Woodruff stands out as he is 700 cheaper than May and 1200 cheaper than Musgrove. Woodruff has also put up 20.5 and 31 DKP in his last two starts. Jack Flaherty is only 8500 and just faced WAS and went 5.0 innings of 1 run ball with 6 Ks for 22.85 DKPs. Same story for Joe Ross who just faced STL and put up 24.5 DKPs going 6.0 with 0 ER and 5Ks. I don’t think you can go wrong with any guy up top although I’m less likely to pay for Joe Musgrove.

STACKS TO CONSIDER:

LAA vs. KOHEI ARIHARA

Kohei has been decent this year with a 3.07 ERA through 14.2 innings but has a very low 4.3 K9 rate. He throws a fastball / change up / slider combo with his fastball hitting an average of 92.0 mph. LAA ranks 9th best vs. the fastball and 1st against the slider which is his secondary pitch. Bullpen behind Kohei is ranked 18th in our custom rankings so mediocre. Top 5 projected hitters are the best targets with Mike Trout a solid one off play in non-LAA stacks.

LAD vs. Justus Sheffield

LAD is red hot right now with a 13-3 record and 8-2 in their last 10 games. They rank 2nd in our last 10 game power rankings. Sheffield has been decent this year but not great. In 2020 through 55.1 innings he allowed a .154 average of LHH and .284 vs. RHH. My preference here is to use the LAD RHH for the main portion of the stack and more specifically, Justin Turner who has put up 2, 14, 15, 30 and 21 DKPs over his last 5 games. Mookie has been sub-par for Mookie standards so I don’t mind skipping over him to be contrarian for GPPs.

KANSAS CITY ROYALS vs. JOSH FLEMING

This stack is CHEAP and the 5 highest priced hitters come in at only 4360 per hitter and the 2-6 highest priced hitters are 3820 average per hitter. Fleming is an average pitcher with a 91.4 mph fastball, cutter and a change up. The bullpen behind him ranks 27th. Stack should be low owned as the Vegas implied run total is only 3.8 runs. In our advanced stats you see KC with a wRC+ of 119.6 at home which is 68 points higher than their road number. They are also 4-1 vs. LHP with a wRC+ of 116.8. They also have a much higher batting average vs. LHP of .265 vs. .235 to righties.
