MLB Sports Betting Picks & DFS Stacks from CheatSheetPros!
QUICK NEWS AND NOTES: (DFS Stacks)
STACKING is a must in DFS. I prefer to stack 4-5 hitters from one team and then 2-3 from another team for a “mini stack”. You can do 4/4 or 5/3, etc. The idea of stacking is when one hitter is on base and the guy behind him hits him in then you get points for the run scored and also the RBI from the other hitter. I base my stacks on cost per player and how chalky it may or may not be. Here is what I’m looking at today/tonight.
STACKS TO CONSIDER:
3 GAME EARLY SLATE:
DETROIT TIGERS vs. TREVOR WILLIAMS
With only 3 games you have to find a way to be different. DET jumps out because you can stack the 5 hottest hitters or the 5 highest graded hitters on the team for only 3420 or 3500 per hitter and that is CHEAP! Trevor Williams has an ERA of 5.81 with a 1.74 whip (which is red flagged on our MLB sheet) and allowing a .297 batting average. DET is far from elite but they can get you 3-5 runs and leave you with plenty of salary to load the holes with studs. Robbie Grossman (3600) is cheap on has a 100 GRADE and has put up 14, 8, 10, 21 and 28 DKPs in his last 5 games. Niko Goodrum (4300) has an 88 GRADE and the second hitter I consider a must have in my stack. He has put up 0, 6, 11, 18 and 20 DKP in his last 5.
MAIN SLATE STACKS:
CINCY / COLORADO – GAME TOTAL 11 RUNS
Chalky Mr. Chalkerson right here with 15 and 21 combined runs in the last two games I think we need to get at least a piece of this game if not stacking it. CIN is crazy expensive at 5400-5600 average per hitter for the top graded stacks. But they are facing Chacin who in 12.1 IP this year is giving up a .313 batting average and 1.78 whip and even has an xFIP of 5.63. I prefer to hit the COL side as they have been hot these last two games and you can get them loaded up for 4300-4500 average per hitter for the top 5 man stacks. Garrett Hampson (4300) has put up 29 and 14 DKP last two games. Josh Fuentes (2400) has put up 18 and 26 and they are CHEAP plugs if they are in the lineup again. I expect CIN to be highly owned with 6.2 implied runs.
CHICAGO WHITE SOX vs. MIKE MINOR
My poor KC Royals are struggling to say the least this year. CHW hold the #1 power ranking over the last 14 days and putting up almost 5 runs per game at home and 5.5 over the last 14 days. I was shocked to see the top stacks were only 3720-4220 per hitter. This is one of my favorite stacks right now. CHW are a solid 8-1 vs. LHP this year with a wRC+ of 154.3 and they are batting a ridiculous .312. After Minor they get the 24th ranked bullpen with an xFIP of 4.44. Load them up!
WASHINGTON NATIONALS vs. SETH FRANKOFF (28TH BULLPEN)
WAS putting up a solid 4.4 runs per game over the last 14 days and rank 7th in our L10 game power rankings. Love the split as they are putting up 3.32 runs per game at home but a whopping 4.8 runs per game on the road. Stack prices are solid running from 3900-4100 for the top 5 man stacks. Outside of Trea Turner (5900) no one else in the projected starting lineup is over 3900. You can fade Turner and save a shit ton of money or play Turner and still have a solid line with a reasonable price. Kyle Schwarber is getting hot with 30 and 19 DKP over the last two games and Josh Bell has 20 and 16 DKPs and they are only 3600 and 3500 on DK.
PHILLY vs. ANTHONY KAY
If you want some additional stacks outside of the above listed ones then I don’t mind Philly. They come in around 4000-4200 per hitter and facing a pitcher allowing a .350 average and 1.86 whip in a small amount of innings this year. Odubel Herrera (2400) is dirt cheap and has put up solid lines over recent games with 3, 3, 17, 18, 5 and 28 DKPs. Don’t love this stack but don’t hate it. I could see a patch to 5-7 runs at a low-mid cost of stack.
GPP STACK OF THE NIGHT:
ST. LOUIS CARDINALS vs. CHRIS PADDACK
On this huge slate STL has an implied run total of only 3.3 runs which should give it little to no ownership with the majority of people going to the CIN/COL game and likely hitting the White Sox. You can stack this for 3700-3800 per hitter for the top 5 man stacks either by GRADE or hottest hitters on our MLB sheet. Nolan Arenado (5000) is the highest priced guy and he is 4 for 6 off Paddack and sitting on a double digit DK point average per game over the last two weeks and hit a HR last night. Paul Goldschmit (4400) is the only other guy over 4k in the projected starting lineup and has put up 7, 12, 5 and 16 DKPs over the last 4. Let’s add in Tyler O’Neill (2700) who has 19, 0, 14 and 18 DKP over the last 4 and Tommy Edman (3900) who has 8, 17, 0 and 10.
