NEWS & NOTES: Had a crazy busy week last week at work so didn’t get much DFS or articles in so wanted to get a quick one out today. Hopefully you had a chance to see our NFL Fantasy ADP guide (free) that is posted all over. Here is our best MLB shots today!
PITCHERS TO CONSIDER:
SHANE BIEBER (11,800) – Great floor with a big ceiling as he has around 20+ DK points in his last 6 starts and even has a 47 and 35 point outing giving you GPP ceiling. Careful as he is facing KC who is horrible on the road but they did get him for 5 ER in 5.2 innings earlier in the year. KC is ice cold right now scoring only 2.5 runs per game over the last week and hitting .190 as a team they rank dead last in our L10 game power rankings. Bieber has a 14.9% strikeout rate and a home xFIP of a low 3.18 with a high 11.3 K9 ratio. BVP is decent with a .226 average across 53 team Abs.
AARON NOLA (11,000) – Turning a corner Nola continues to impress coming off 27 and 29 DK point starts and those were vs. tough teams CHC and @ BOS. He has only allowed 3 ER in his last 17.0 innings and put up 14 strikeouts. 3.51 ERA with a 3.82 xFIP and allowing a low .228 batting average. #6 bullpen behind him to close out the game if they can get the lead.
STEVEN MATZ (8500) – Tough matchup vs. ATL but could be sneaky here as he has 26, 20 and 24 DK points in his last 3 starts and 5 starts ago he put up a 40.25 DK point outing. In his last 3 starts he has 19.0 innings with 4 ER and 19 Ks. Great split here as his road ERA is 6.28 but at home it comes down to a nice 2.07 and his batting average allowed drops from .290 down to .235!
ELIESER HERNANDEZ (6300) – Not much on the lower end but a punt option here. He has 13, 10 and 28.5 DK points in his last 3 starts. He is averaging over a K an inning and last start @ ATL (tough matchup) only allowed 1 ER. His HOME ERA drops from 6.38 down to 4.32 and his batting average allowed goes from .263 down to .230. BVP is decent with only 28 ABS as they are only hitting .179 off him. PHI as a team is only hitting .233 as a team over the last week.
STACKS & PITCHERS TO TARGET AGAINST:
ST.LOUIS CARDINALS – My favorite stack today as Senzeatela has a low 7.1% swinging strike rate and the 27th ranked bullpen after he leaves the game. Senza is allowing a .307 batting average to opponent hitters on the road and an ERA of 5.84 and a whip of 1.74. BVP is great as they are hitting .282 off him through 39 Abs. STL ranks 3rd in our L10 game power rankings scoring 5.7 runs per game over the last week. They are cheap as the top 5 hitters are only 4340 average which is well below the 5000 average per hitter we see on the big market chalk teams.
WASHINGTON – Tough matchup vs. Cole Hamels who has held them to a .226 batting average across 84 team Abs. However Washington is the hottest team in the MLB right now and they rank #1 in our L10 game power rankings and hitting .340 as a team over the last week! The top 7 hitters all grade at the highest grade on our sheet!
SEATTLE – Cheap sneaky stack vs. Buchholz who is allowing a .370 batting average to LHH and a .345 batting average on the road. 21st bullpen takes over when he leaves the game and he has a horrible 7.9% swinging strike rate. Sit in that 2-5 hitter range as they all grade out really well.
SAN FRANCISCO – GPP dart here as they are only projected at 4.3 runs per Vegas numbers. They rank 9th in our L10 game power rankings and hitting .244 as a team while scoring 5.0 runs per game over the last week. They face Brett Anderson who they have faced 79 times and hitting him at a nice .329 clip with a low 10% strikeout rate. Anderson also has a home xFIP of a whopping 5.38 and allowing a .290 average! Stack is cheap!
