These are the best bets that I’ve put together using our NFL cheat sheets!
TITANS (-3) OVER HOUTSON:
ALGO PROJECTED SCORE ON CHEAT SHEET: TITANS 30 vs. HOUSTON 23
ALGO PROJECTED LINE: TITANS – 7
NOTES: So far this was the one game that I hammered as soon as the line came out. I can see this going to -3.5 or -4 so I would grab it now at -3. Our algo has this projected line as high as TEN -7. TEN is the better team across the board. Titans are coming off a smashing of the Bills in primetime and hold the 9th best offense in the NFL and 15th best defense. Titans currently rank 6th in PPG at 30.5 and they are 9th in rushing yards per game at 131.5. The main factor for me is the Houston rush defense that ranks 26th in the NFL and is allowing 160.4 yards per game on the ground which ranks 31st. This tells me in the red zone Derrick Henry can pound the rock and score. Lay the FG and take the Titans at home!
BEARS (+1.5) OVER PANTHERS:
ALGO PROJECTED SCORE ON CHEAT SHEET: BEARS 22 vs. PANTHERS 23
ALGO PROJECTED LINE: ‘PICK’EM
NOTES: Line opened at Bears +3 and quickly moved down to +1.5 and will likely be pick’em by game time. When our “Algo Line” is different from the “Vegas Line” that is typically where the Vegas line is moving too and this allows us to grab the line in a favorable spot. Take the +1.5 and love it on a teaser as that will get you over the key numbers. CAR is the much better offense on the season but Nick Foles has sparked up these Bears. The Bears also have a solid defense that ranks 6th in the NFL. CAR will have a hard time stopping the bears with their 31st ranked defense and 29th ranked rush defense. The Bears gave been close in all their games this year. They started off the year beating DET 27-23, the NYG 17-13 and then ATL 30-26 and finally lost to a tough defensive team in INDY 19-11. They followed that loss up by beating Tom Brady and the Bucs 20-19 as a +3.5 point dog. Now Tampa Bay is 7th in total offense and hold the top defensive unit in the NFL through 5 weeks and the Bears got in there and got the win. CAR isn’t close to this Bucs team they just faced with the 18th offense and 31st defense AND now we are getting points??? Easy pick at +1.5 for me.
WASHINGTON / GIANTS UNDER 43.5:
ALGO PROJECTED SCORE ON CHEAT SHEET: WASHINGTON 21 vs. GIANTS 20
ALGO PROJECTED LINE: 41 TOTAL POINTS
NOTES: For the record I DO NOT BET UNDERS and I hate them! If you do bet unders then this is one game that I would consider. These teams have horrible offenses and good defenses. WAS ranks 32nd in total offense and Giants rank 30th. Now WAS holds the 8th best DEF in the NFL and the Giants sit in the middle at 16th. For the season in points per game these teams rank 30th and 31st at 17.8 and 16.2 PPG.
BALTIMORE RAVENS (-7.5) OVER PHILLY EAGLES:
ALGO PROJECTED SCORE ON CHEAT SHEET: RAVENS 30 vs. EAGLES 20
ALGO PROJECTED LINE: -10
NOTES: Line opened at -7 and now -7.5 and BAL is holding 82% of the bets right now. BAL hasn’t been the team they were last year but they are still getting the job done. Ravens stand at 4-1 on the year and their 4 wins were beating CLE 38-6, HOU 33-16, WAS 31-17 and CIN 27-3. They are 6th in total offense and hold the 3rd best defense in the NFL. Now Philly ranks 26th in total offense and 14th in total defense. However, Philly ranks 29th in their pass defense so even Lamar should be able to carve them up and rack up 30 points for these Ravens. So can the Eagles score 23 points and cover the spread? Only the Chiefs were able to do that and no other team has been over 17 points against this Ravens defensive unit. Philly managed a win against the 49’ers and the return of Jimmy Grapes but other than that they haven’t done much. They did put up 29 points against a tough PIT defense but the 80 yard break away by Miles Sanders was a fluke and Fulgham going over 10 catches and 150 yards? Not this week, all RAVENS!
STEELERS (-3.5) OVER BROWNS:
ALGO PROJECTED SCORE ON CHEAT SHEET: STEELERS 30 vs. BROWNS 37
ALGO PROJECTED LINE: -3
NOTES: Algo line suggest 3 points and line is -3.5. Sheet indicates that you should take the points. I’m not a fan of the Cleveland Browns and they are due for a collapse. PIT at home vs. CLE is 10-0 in their last 10 games. They are also 7-1 straight up at home in their last 8 home games. PIT holds the #5 total defense and #1 rushing defense. CLE ranks 22nd in total defense. The factor for me in what should be a great game is that CLE is allowing 296.4 passing yards per game which ranks 30th in the NFL. Now Big Ben has Chase Claypool, JuJu and Diontae Johnson? I’m laying the points here with PIT at home. I also lean to the OVER 51 as our model has this as a high scoring game. These teams also rank 4th and 10th in PPG on the season at 31.2 and 29.5.
