NFL Late Week “Punt Plays” from CheatSheetPros!
QUICK NEWS AND NOTES:
Joe Mixon has been ruled out this week so Gio (4500) on DK becomes a chalky punt play at the RB position.
PLAYS UNDER 4,500 ON DRAFTKINGS:
A.J. GREEN (4300) – His price has fallen down to 4300. All year I’ve heard about him leading in “Air Yards” and “Targets” and finally last week he put up 17.6 DK points without a TD. Hopefully, he can build on this performance. Green has 47 targets on the year compared to 48 for Tyler Boyd and 39 of Higgins.
DIONTAE JOHNSON (4200) – There is some risk with him since he has now left his last two games with injuries and is just returning. The first two weeks of the year he started off on fire with 10 and 13 targets (compared to only 6 and 7 for JuJu). It looked as if this may be a 1-A and 1-B with Diontae and JuJu. Now also comes James Claypool who has caught fire. Diontae was looking like Bens top target and his price tag is only 4200 so we might get a week or two of crazy value if he can get back on the field and produce. Claypool isn’t going away anytime soon so he will eat some targets but Ben now has some weapons.
BRESHAD PERRIMAN (3700) – Putting up 10.2 DK points last week he was the clear #2 WR on the team that will need to throw a lot this year. Crowder is the main target in the offense but Perriman came back and took 9 targets last game and knocked down Jeff Smith to only 3 targets. Look for positive matchups but Perriman could be a decent punt play going forward if his price stays under 4,000.
DEMARCUS ROBINSON (3400) – With Sammy Watkins out of the game it was Robinson who got it done over Mecole and put up 11.9 DK points last week. He had 12 targets in the last two games (6 each game). He is surging for that #3 WR behind Kelce and Hill and priced near the min on DK.
DARNELL MOONEY (3000) – The speedster is fighting with Jimmy Graham for #2 targets in this offense. He has 5, 5, 9 and 6 in the last 4 weeks and Graham has 9, 5, 5 and 9. Both are clearly behind Allen Robinson but a decent min priced play that is bought to catch one and score before tool long!
JUST OVER THE MIN PRICE PLAYS TO CONSIDER:
BRANDON COOKS (5200) – Last week 9 catches for 68 yards and a TD and the week prior 8 catches for 161 and a TD. 21 targets in the last two weeks on an offense that has to throw a ton to stay in games because they have no defense. 5.2k is cheap! Will Fuller is all the way up to 6800 so I’ll take the discount on Cooks!
JAX Wide Receivers – I am making this a blanket statement because one of these 3 guys always has a monster week and they are all cheap. First, let’s look at JAX as a team. They are attempting 40 passes per game which ranks 4th in the NFL behind Dallas, Cincy and the Falcons. They also rank #1 in the NFL is pass play percentage at 67.7% and over the last 3 games they have been at 71.5%. D.J. Chark (5500) is getting 9 targets per game over the last 3 games, Shenault (4500) is slightly over 7 targets per game and Cole (4700) is also has 7 targets per game. In Week 4 D.J. Chark had 8 catches for 95 yards and 2 TDs, no one did much in Week 5 and last week Cole had 6 grabs for 143 yards. If running multiple lineups for large field GPPs I’d have at least 1 JAX WR in 50% of my lineups.
