PGA Risers & Fallers for "The Memorial".

PGA Stats & Plays from CheatSheetPros!

QUICK NEWS AND NOTES:

There is a slight amount of weather projected for tomorrow giving an edge to the morning wave of golfers. After looking at the ownership projections from Fantasy Alarm and the weather from Kevin Roth I have a few guys who have moved up and down.

PLAYERS TO MOVE UP FOR GPP CONSIDERATION:

DUSTIN JOHNSON – Of all the players over $10,000 on DK Dustin Johnson is projected to be the lowest owned at around 8.1% and also has a morning wave tee time. When the big three Bryson, Rory and Thomas are over 18% I will gladly slide down to Johnson for a nice pivot. He has put up 133.5 and 101 DK points in his last two tournaments and 6 of his last 7 rounds are -3 or better. He has played 32 rounds here and that mark is also at +1.65 strokes gained on the field.

COLLIN MORIKAWA – He won me some coin last week but I was low on him this week coming in at $10,000 with the studs just a few hundred bucks more. He is projected to be the second lowest owned guy at <12% and he has a morning wave tee time. He is a scoring monster and can easily go over 100 DK points. Last week he shot -7, -6, par and -6 on the final round. DK also gives bonus points to bogey free rounds and 3 consecutive birdies.

IAN POULTER – Poulter and Streelman are priced close to each other on DK so I was curious to see what the ownership numbers would look like. Surprisingly, Poulter is only 10.7% while Streelman is 16%. Both have a morning wave tee time but I will own more shares of Poulter at the lower percentage for GPPs.

CAMERON CHAMP – Let me be clear this is for GPP only. He burned several people last week shooting an opening round -2 followed up with a par to make the cut and then went off the rail shooting +3 and then +6. The course will also be more difficult this week. His ownership is showing that as he is projected at only 0.5%. Now we did like him last week and he had 4 rounds on the course, he has a morning tee time and microscopic ownership so put him in a few GPP line and cross your fingers!

BRENDAN STEELE – Of the guys in the 7100ish range on DK Glover and Straka are easily going to be the highest owned in the 5%-11% range. If you dig a little lower you get Steele who is projected around 2% ownership and has a morning tee time. Last week he was 7th in T2G for the tourney behind the likes of Hovland, Thomas, Morikawa, Henley, Keegan Bradley and Hideki but he was also -1.87 strokes gained putting. He finished T52 and if his putter can get hot he could fly up the leaderboard into the top 25. Don’t get crazy he isn’t going to compete for a win but an average putter could put him through the cut line and into the top 25 players for a good return and pivot off Glover/Straka.

TROY MERRITT – Troy and Norlander were the two punts I’m using this week and they are projected in the 4-6% ownership range. Merritt is on the lower side of that number and has a morning tee time while Norlander is a 12:22 pm tee time. Lean Merritt over Norlander in GPPs. I’m not saying don’t play Norlander, we like him but if you are doing percentage number I’d like Merritt to 10-20% and Norlander to 5-10% if you are doing multiple lineups.

DAVID LINGMERTH – He is only 6100 on DK and projected at <1% ownership. There was an article I read on Action Network and it stated that he lost his PGA tour card but has been playing well on the Korn Ferry Tour (I think that’s the name?) and he loves this course. Now after reading that article I went back to look at course history and he has played 28 rounds here at +1.61 strokes gained on the field and won here in 2015. Worth a GPP flier at that ownership! Oh and he has a morning tee time at 8:39 am.

HONORABLE MENTIONS: Jordan Spieth (am wave, good course history), Keegan Bradley (morning wave, solid T2G just struggled putting), Stewart Cink (2% ownership and playing good golf), Kevin Kisner (<4% ownership and morning tee time), Patrick Reed (10% and morning tee time priced at low mid 8ks on DK), Bryson (19% is lower than I expected, I figured 25%).

PLAYERS MOVING DOWN FOR ME IN GPP:

PATRICK CANTLAY – He is projected at the highest guy on the board right now which was surprising because I assumed it would be Bryson. With him being the highest owned I will be under the field on him at that number.

JON RAHM – I was hoping for sub 10% ownership but he is projected around that 15% range and has an afternoon tee time. He plays great in the wind so I’m not worried about the tee time just not excited with the wind and high ownership number.

OTHER NOTES:

Guys playing with an afternoon tee time could get 10-15 mph winds with gusts was the last I read from Kevin Roth. Make sure they are players who are strong in the wind. Some people struggle mightily in the wind and that could affect them especially in small showdown slates or trying to make the cut.

Thanks for reading,

Haze
