BEST BETS FOR COLLEGE FOOTBALL WEEK 6:
COASTAL CAROLINA (-19 OR -20) OVER ARKANSAS STATE
GEORGIA (-15.5) OVER AUBURN
FLORIDA (1ST HALF) OVER VANDY
THURSDAY NIGHT SPECIAL: Coastal Carolina (-19 or -20) over Arkansas State
9th Best Offense going up against the 126th rated Defense is an easy "Lay the points" bet for me.
Coastal Carolina has been a solid heavy fav team covering their last two games. They were a -33.5 favorite over LA-MONROE and won 59-6 and the week prior they were a -36 point favorite over UMass and won 53-3. They even beat KU as a -26.5 favorite by a score of 49-22.
Take note of the YPP (yard per point) efficiency rating between the two of 10.7 and 15.3 and with our custom tinkering we are putting Coastal down to around 8.6.
Arkansas State just gave up 59 points to Georgia Southern who has a power ranking of 30 so what do you think Coastal Carolina will do that has a current power ranking of 49!
GEORGIA (-15.5) OVER AUBURN
Most of our models have this right around the Vegas line but when the PFF line and our custom Algo line BOTH like it then that is something I have to make note of as those have done really well.
Georgia has been amazing and their defense has only allowed 23 points ALL YEAR and they have not allowed any points the last 2 games. Given one of those was gainst Vandy who is awful but shutting down Arkansas was impressive!
They have also put up 37, 62, 40 and 56 points the last 4 games and with that defense you have to back the Dawgs!
Auburn has been less than impressive barely getting by an unranked LSU team 24-19. The prior week they were -27.5 point favorites against Georgia State and only won 34-24. No other way to go!
FLORIDA GATORS (-38 GAME OR TAKE FIRST HALF LINE)
This is going to be a "get-right" ass whooping for the Gators which is why I lean to the (1H) line because they will come out of the gate HOT in front of their home crowd and put on a show!
Florida got beat by Kentucky last week 20-13 as a -7.5 fav but did you see the game stats? Florida dominated them 21-13 in FDs and 382 vs. only 224 yards.
Florida beat a tough TEN team 38-14 the week prior and the week before that faced #1 Alabama as a +14 point dog and went the distance losing 31-29.
Vandy was just beat 62-0 by Georgia and rank outside the top 110 in "OFF" and "DEF".
THESE ARE GAMES IN CONSIDERATION RIGHT NOW THAT I HAVE NOT BET ON:
ARKANSAS (+6.5) OVER OLE MISS [Don't mind MONEYLINE!]
Both teams got rolled last week facing the #1 and #2 teams in the land so let's toss last week out the window!
Arkansas beat Texas A&M 20-10 as a +4.5 dog and Texas 40-21 as a +6.5 point dog and rolled Georgia Southern (-23) 45-10. Ole Miss will be a test but not near as difficult as Georgia was last week.
Ole Miss stats are skewed and we don't really know how good they are because of the teams they have faced. I mean they clobbered Tulane, Austin Peay and Louisville but those are hardly tough matchups. Louisville is allowing the 99th most rush yards per game and 115th most passing yards per game, Tulane is allowing the 121st most rushing yards per game and 119th most passing yards per game and I'm not even going to look up Austin Peay.
